I was able to determine that my player was sorting tracks based upon the title, not the file name, so I used Mediamonkey to clear all of the titles from the files, forcing my player to look to the file name to sort. I can't imagine why, but some audio books are split into 4 or 5 minute tracks.ĮDIT2: Problem solved via Mediamonkey. On the smaller books where it's just a dozen or so files, I do just rename them, but that's not a good solution for some. Tldr - anyone know a free program to join multiple mp3 tracks into one?ĮDIT: in response to those suggesting I rename the files, or edit their id3 tags: many of the books I listen to are split into hundreds of files. I can get around this problem by joining the files together into huge, hours long tracks, but I haven't found a good free program to do so. The app supports more than 300 audio formats, automatically converting them to mp3 for quicker and easier operation. So all of the Tyrion chapters are together, all of the Sansa chapters are together, etc. My mp3 player ignores the numbers completely, and sorts the chapters together by name. The problem is that my player is stupid, and cannot seem to sort the tracks correctly.įor example, the Game of Thrones books have chapters titled by the character's names, like 1. I listen to audio books at work on an mp3 player.
